Chestnuts are great and I had them all around the world (the best one in Vienna) but last few years I bought some in different stored but all imported from China and they are awful. I tied many times hoping that it was just a bad box, farm, season… nope I officially gave up there are no good chestnuts grown in china. They are tasteless, smell weird and have dark (mold like) spots. Believe me if you only tasted chestnuts from China you didn’t tested them yet…

These chesnuts are the closest thing to roasted chesnuts I have ever had. That might sound absurd, but I have had roasted chesnuts years ago in Sicily when i was stationed in the Navy these taste the same if not better. These are Great. I bought a bag today in the store just to try them as I have never seen them in the past in stores. They were just like everyone has said semi-sweet and surprisingly mild in flavor. I immediately went to AMAZON.COM to see if I can buy them there and they are sending me an alert via evail when they are available. I have just finished the bag I bought today and I can’t wait to go buy more when I can as I crave more. They grow on you. Try them you will not be disappointed.
