Former CDC Chief Named President of Merck Vaccine Division

http://www.infectioncontroltoday.com/hotnews/geberding-named-merck-vaccine-president.html

Some excerpts:

Gerberding served as CDC director from 2002 to 2009. During her tenure at CDC, Gerberding led the agency during more than 40 emergency response initiatives for health crises including anthrax bioterrorism, foodborne disease outbreaks and natural disasters, and advised governments around the world on urgent public health issues such as SARS, AIDS and obesity.

“Vaccines are a cornerstone of Merck’s commitment to health and wellness,” said Richard T. Clark, chairman and chief executive officer, Merck & Co., Inc. “We are delighted to welcome an expert of Dr. Gerberding’s caliber to Merck. As a preeminent authority in public health, infectious diseases and vaccines, Dr. Gerberding is the ideal choice to lead Merck’s engagement with organizations around the world that share our commitment to the use of vaccines to prevent disease and save lives.”

Basically what this means is that the former head of the CDC (America’s Center For Disease Control) is now the President of the Merck’s Vaccine Division and this tells us a lot on what is happening to the drug industry. It also tells you NOT to trust what the CDC recommends. Why? Well, first of all, isn’t that a conflict of interest? Dr Gerberding is the CDC Director from 2002 to 2009. Merck sells vaccines, drugs and other medical supplies to hospitals and clinics which are supposed to help combat diseases. That would make Dr Gerberding’s decisions as the CDC Director highly biased when you look at the entire picture. She is supposed to be an authority in public health, infectious diseases and vaccines and her influence on government policies is quite significant. It also shows that drug companies have a lot of influence on government policies. No doubt about it. If she had not been “cozy” with Merck and other drug companies (or at least supportive of their efforts), she would probably not been given a position in their company. So it makes perfect sense. And by the way, Merck is the company which continued to sell the painkiller Vioxx to the public even AFTER it was found to increased heart attacks. And worst of all, they knew about it for years. They even submitted studies to the FDA which clearly states the increased heart attacks from Vioxx in those studies. If you are interested, please take a look at Wikipedia’s Vioxx page here.

Yes, this is the nature of big businesses. But we are talking about public health here. Not cars, not shampoo, not carpets, not Blackberries, not Playstation. But health and diseases. That is something which should not be played with and there should be strict controls. Yet, we have this where you can easily see the conflict of interest.Probably why the government is leading the charge for people to get vaccinated against the recent H1N1 scare when we all know that the H1N1 effects are just very mild. And yes, Merck manufactures and distributes a portion of those H1N1 vaccines. I know that ignorance is bliss. But how long can we pretend that this is not a problem?  Aren’t you worried that those high ranking government officials are not looking at your best interest? Instead they are looking at their OWN interests, which are the same as the big drug companies. That is to sell as many drugs and vaccines to the public as possible. PROFITS are the only interests of drug companies. Let me ask you, how can you be sure that the vaccines are safe? How can you be sure that the vaccines are effective? How can you be sure that there are no long term effects on your health? Because the government and the drug companies tell you? If they told you the truth, you might not be willing to risk the negative effects of vaccines and drugs and there goes the profits of the pharmaceutical companies. There is no incentive for the government officials and the drug companies to tell you the truth. So you will have to take your own initiative and start reading on the pros and cons about vaccines, drugs and other therapies. Don’t rely on just one source of information. And I would highly recommend you to treat medical advise from drug companies the same way you treat financial advise from your financial adviser – with skepticism. The recent minibonds and financial meltdown tells you that everyone just wants to make money off you. The same goes for drug companies. The truth is, the doctors get their information from drug companies too. Even honest ones might not understand the true implication of vaccines and drugs. They are taught at universities which teaches them what drug companies want those institutes to teach their students – that drugs and vaccines are great and they are the only real solution to our health problems. Is it? All you have to do is to look around you and see whether our overall health have improved or not. Just look at the number of people today with chronic diseases and long term health problems. Look at the increasing number of people suffering from cancer, autoimmune diseases and so on. Is it really better? It has been like 40 years since the start of the battle for cancer, yet it seems that we are losing the battle with conventional medicine. Why keep on going the same way when we know that it won’t work?

However, at the very least, the Internet has changed the lock on information. We no longer have to rely on just one source. That is why I always recommend people to go read and find out more on how to improve their health and beware of frauds and myths.

I am sure that you guys have heard it over and over again. I am not surprised. I mean it is customary to wish readers a Merry Christmas. And of course, it is also polite to do so. And that is exactly what this blog is all about – being polite. So I shall repeat what you guys have seen on the Internet throughout the day – I wish you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let’s enjoy the holidays and this time, it is the long weekend! Seldom do we get a real chance to take a break from work and really relax and enjoy ourselves. And next week as well! I am sure that most of us have taken leave to enjoy the consecutive long weekends.

For those working during the holidays, well, I also wish you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope that your boss appreciate what you have sacrificed. Although if you are in Singapore, that is a very rare thing indeed. Most bosses in Singapore are just way too money minded to really appreciate the workers. It is no wonder Singaporeans work that hard anymore. I mean if your boss don’t treat their employees well, their workers will not work hard. It is as simple as that, yet most people at the top don’t understand this simple concept. They need to get their brain checked.

Anyway, I sincerely hope that you are enjoying the holidays. And see you guys soon.

Kefir – 1 Year On

Well, guys I have been taking Kefir daily for more than one year and I need to tell you it has been a blast – health-wise of course.  I am feeling...

Well, guys I have been taking Kefir daily for more than one year and I need to tell you it has been a blast – health-wise of course.  I am feeling great, definitely much better than before. I never got seriously sick since taking Kefir. Of course, this is in combination with my improved diet choices. I know that Kefir is a powerful probiotic nutritious food, but it is not some sort of miracle food. There is no such thing as a miracle food. If there were, we would all be living on that alone instead of our regular diets. So if you are thinking of taking Kefir, remember to improve your diet as well. Eat plenty of raw vegetables and fruits. And of course, exercise regularly.

Anyway, as I mentioned, I have been taking Kefir daily for the past year or so. Yes, it does take some effort to ferment the Kefir. But seriously, it takes up at most 15 minutes of my time every day. I usually strain my Kefir in the evenings when I get back home and start drinking it slowly till I sleep. I agree that it can be rather tart and sometimes when you get back home from a tiring day at work, all you want to do is to relax with a sweet fizzy drink. But although Kefir is a bit tart, the feeling after drinking Kefir is just great. It makes you relax and calm, something which that fizzy soda drink won’t. It also goes great with some fresh fruits or honey. In the weekends, if I have the time, I will only ferment the Kefir for 12 hours or so, then strain them in the mornings. This way, I get additional Kefir to consume in the mornings or afternoons. In the warm Singapore weather, the Kefir should be ready in 12 hours.

As for my health, well, I have not fallen sick! That is simply amazing! No more expensive visits to the doctor. No more medication. No more drugs. No more feeling down. Of course I am not saying that I am some sort of super healthy monster, I am definitely not. But it has really improved my health. And the best part is I am now really enjoying life. Some people think that falling sick and going to see the doctor every few months is normal. Come on, it is not normal. How can that be normal? If we are really healthy, we shouldn’t need to go and see the doctor. In my opinion, the health condition of Singaporeans is rather bad. All you have to do is to go to your nearby polyclinic and see the long queues there. How can that be considered healthy. If we are sick all the time, how is that enjoying life? We see the increasing number of people with long term chronic diseases and how is that considered healthy. Drugs, especially long term medication are bad. We know that they are poisons. Constantly consuming poisons is not a solution. We should look for alternatives than conventional medicine. And improving our diets can really help our body deal with long term problems. We know that medicines can be very expensive. Long term medication requires you to pay for the medicine for life. And in the end, it adds up to a lot. Kefir is simply milk. At most one litre of milk costs S$5. About one week, you spend about S$10 on milk. In a month, you spend about S$40 on milk. How about long term medicines? S$100 per month is not uncommon. In fact, when the last I got the fever, I paid about S$80 for one week of medication. And most importantly, those medicines do not prevent me from getting sick, neither do they make me healthy. Kefir on the other hand provides you with probiotics, which helps your immune system. And Kefir has tons of vitamins and other nutrients necessary for your body to function well.

So, why not try improving your diet? It s very safe. It is not like Kefir will kill you. We know that drugs have harmful effects. All you have to do is to read the label on the drug you purchase – it will state the known harmful effects of the drug. Kefir will be less costly in the long run. Kefir can be consumed as part of your diet. You get sick less often and you feel better.

Sadly, most people never heard of white tea before. Yes, we know that there are green tea, ooloong tea and black tea available. The most famous is probably black tea, which usually comes in the form of tea bags made by Lipton. Every morning we will see people rushing to work with a cup of pipping hot black tea (with sugar) in their hands. Well, they don’t know what they are missing. First of all, why add sugar to the tea? And why add milk to the tea? It is not that bitter anyway. And the main purpose of drinking tea is because tea taste great and aromatic. You feel very much relaxed after a cup of tea. Adding sugar just makes the tea taste sweet (and leave a sticky feeling in your mouth). And how about green tea? It is reported that green tea has way more health benefits than black tea. The antioxidant level in green tea is extraordinary, yet we don’t see green tea a popular beverage in Singapore. Which is too bad, considering how poor most Singaporeans’ health are.

And white tea? Probably the highest content of antioxidants of all teas. And if you don’t like tea because of the slightly bitter taste, I believe that white tea shouldn’t be a problem. White tea is not bitter at all. In fact, some white tea taste a bit sweet. Of course, you won’t have the complex aromatics of black green and you won’t have the slight grassy feeling of green tea, but what you get is a enjoyable, slightly sweet beverage. I don’t know why they call it white tea though, the resulting beverage looks kind of yellowish to me.

My parents bought this white tea for me. No, they don’t come in tea bags. Loose leaf tea are usually better than those from tea bags. What you get from tea bags are usually tea dust, which in my opinion are of poorer quality. I would highly recommend you to choose tea leaves if possible. And it is not really that difficult to brew tea anyway. Just add some hot water to the tea leaves and leave them for a few minutes. You should have some delicious white tea in a few minutes time. This pack is from Fu Jian Sheng Lian….whatever. They claim that China’s Fujian is the best source of tea.

Yes, those are tea leaves. 150g of tea leaves! Oh, on the right is the camera sling which I forgot to put away when I took the photo. My bad.

I think they are telling us the benefits of white tea. I gave back my mandarin to my teacher years ago. Maybe it is time for me to start relearning the language again? Well, we will see. If you are looking for good sources of tea in Singapore, I would say try China Town. My parents tell me that there are quite a few stores specializing in teas there. I usually get my tea from eBay but sometimes the shipping time is a drag. Anyway, ciao! See you guys next time.

Green Rose Fresh Salad

Ahhh…yet another of the salad review! You guys must really be thinking that I have gone of my medication right? Well, yes, I have been off any sort of medication (drugs)...

Ahhh…yet another of the salad review! You guys must really be thinking that I have gone of my medication right? Well, yes, I have been off any sort of medication (drugs) for about a year already. That is right, I have not taken any drugs for one year. And I feel great. Much much better than I felt before. If you had been reading my blog for the past few years, you would have known that I was rather sickly. I get a major illness once every 3 or 4 months, like clockwork. However, since October last year, I have started to improve my diet to the point where I did not fall sick all the way. Okay, I have a slight sore throat in March, but that was probably due to my reservist training and the unhygienic conditions where the food I consumed was prepared. That was expected. And it lasted like 2 days only. So it was no biggie. And even though this few months have been a very stressful period, I am still feeling okay, health-wise. I am able to sleep properly and I don’t have any more serious migraines.  I used to suffer from chronic migraines, which can last from a few minutes to a few hours. And I achieved this without the help of drugs!

So before we all go and start laughing at the “odd” person eating differently from the rest of us, we should really understand that food is very important. What we consume will ultimately affect our health. Sure, when we are young and relatively healthy, we can afford to consume unhealthy food. But how long can we keep on doing that? Eventually, the dam will break and everything will come crashing down. My advise is simple, you don’t have to radically change your diet. All you need to do is to add some healthy food into your daily diet and to remove and limit the amount of “bad” food. You will be surprised to see how much your health will improve once you start. And this helps your body adjust as well. I certainly don’t recommend anyone to go “healthy” wholesale, which could be harmful. Just slowly start improving your diet. It is not difficult either. Add a little raw vegetables and fruits to your diet. Remove sugar and limit the amount of processed stuff  consumed. Then just keep on increasing the amount of raw vegetables and fruits.

Green Rose Fresh Salad! Well, doesn’t look tempting if you ask me. They would do better by improving the design of their packaging. But I guess most Singaporean companies do not invest much on packaging, unlike the Japanese. For me, I think that they should. Of course, the quality of the vegetables is important, but still, they need their stuff to be attractive. If not, nobody will buy their products. Fact of life.

Ready to eat! And please keep refrigerated! Of course, if not, you are going to be greeted by some horrid mash of brownish stuff once you open the pack.

The ingredients are baby butterhead, tomatoes, radicchio, raisins and thousand island dressing. This is yet another quality product from Aero-Green Technology (S) Pte Ltd. Go go Aero Green! Wuhahaha, what a name!

Check out the vegetables. Not a lot, considering that this is about 80g of raw vegetables. Taste wise, nothing impressive. I mean, what can you do with raw vegetables anyway. The dressing is also nothing to shout about. Okay, shut up and just eat your vegetables.

FairPrice Pasar Baby Honey Salad

One of the most convenient way to eat healthy is to get one of these. Of course, they might not be the best way since we have no idea exactly how long the vegetables have been exposed before they are packed, but at the very least we are consuming raw vegetables. Yes, raw vegetables have the most nutrients in them. Once you cook something, some of the nutrients are destroyed. Even if you lightly steam your food, the enzymes that were present in the food will be killed. We all know the importance of enzymes in our diet right? Think of enzymes as little workers which helps to break down the food we eat into useful components for our body to absorb. Without them, our bodies cannot function. Yes, our body produces enzymes but over time, our bodies start to find it difficult to produce enough enzymes and this will definitely lead to health problems. And that is why raw vegetables is a very health choice. You get all the benefits of eating vegetables as well as enzymes. You should always add some raw foods into your daily diet.

Anyway, I bought this from NTUC. The brand name is FairPrice, of course it is from our local supermarket NTUC.  And as usual, it is not cheap. A few pieces of vegetables and a little salad dressing, it cost an arm. Well, you will have to pay for the convenience. And in Singapore, nothing is cheap anymore. The cost of living is just way too high for anyone to really find cheap food. Just look at the cost of rentals!

The FairPrice Pasar Baby Honey Salad. This is single serve. Not really, the amount of vegetables they have is barely enough to fit into my palm. This is definitely not “Single Serve”!

Baby Honey Salad. Can’t find any Honey.

The ingredients are Butterhead, Baby Cos, Red Batavia, Radicchio, Baby Tomatoes & Thousand Island Dressing. Rather common local vegetables they have. Yet so expensive. The net weight of this salad is 80g.  Oh, product of Singapore! So that means that the vegetables are grown in Singapore or does it mean that they pack the salad here? By the way, these vegetables are “air-grown”. I am not sure what they meant by air-grown but I believe that they meant the vegetables are not grown in the soil but with their roots dangling in the air. Something like that.

Yes, they have a used by date. Again, as you can see from the picture, pretty small amount of vegetables. And the overall taste is pretty bland. Even the Thousand Island dressing is uninteresting. Too bad.

Langers Cranberry Juice Cocktail

Yes, not everyone’s favourite drink. In fact, I am pretty sure that no one out there enjoys drinking cranberry juice. It is so very sour and if it is from concentrate, there will be this slight bitterness which seems to get worse after a while. I am guessing it is because of the process in which high heat is applied to the cranberry juice to evaporate it and this results in the bitterness. Those that are made from direct juicing would probably not have this bitterness but nevertheless, cranberry juice will always be very tart. Maybe some people like the tartness? Yes, Kefir is tart but Kefir has a different kind of tartness altogether. At least it is creamy. But cranberry juice is just liquid and that makes it kind of difficult to swallow.

Anyway, if you were to visit our local supermarkets, you will be surprised to find that there are a lot of brand carrying cranberry juice.  Most of them are from concentrates, which would be cheaper. Of course, the health benefits would be diminished due to the heating process. They usually fortify the juice with vitamins. Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me. What’s the point of drinking fruit juices if you have to fortify them in order for them to provide us with antioxidants? Might as well just take the antioxidants pills directly. Cheaper and more convenient as well.

There, the Langers Cranberry Juice Cocktail.

I like the Langers logo. Looks kind of nice. And yes, 100% of your daily intake of Vitamin C per serving! No, the Vitamin C  from the cranberries is destroyed, so they add Vitamin C into the drink. I really doubt that those added Vitamin C are the same as the Vitamin C from fruits and vegetables. This bottle contains slightly less than 1 litre of cranberry juice cocktail. That is a lot of sour juice to finish. I guess with the added sugar, it should not be that bad. Well, seems that a lot of consumers are starting to realize the importance of drinking fruit juices instead of soda drinks which contains just too much artificial flavours, preservatives, sugars and so on, which can be detrimental to our health.

Cool, no HFCS! It should mean High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is probably the worst kind of sugar you can consume.  That means, good! We should always avoid HFCS whenever possible.

Ahhh…27% juice only. That is why they call it juice cocktail instead of plain old juice. The ingredients are filtered water, sugar, cranberry juice concentrate, natural flavours, citric acid and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Well, as I mentioned, this ascorbic acid is where the vitamin C comes from. Not from the cranberry themselves.  Anyway, this is all natural, no high fructose corn syrup, no colours and no preservatives. Furthermore, it has very low sodium content and is gluten free.

Product of the USA. Seems that most of the cranberry products are from the USA. I guess, they are the largest producer of cranberries in the world. Even the dried cranberries which I love so much are mostly from the USA. And probably why cranberry products are rather expensive. Well, what to do?

Langers, it’s in the juice. What is in the juice???

Pineapple tarts – everyone’s favourite local snack. I mean who here don’t like pineapple tarts? They are so very delicious. And like all delicious snacks in Singapore, it is also rather expensive. I guess it could be due to the high cost of pineapples. But looking at the supermarkets, pineapples seem to be priced rather reasonable. So why the high price as compared to the other local snacks? No idea. In Singapore, prices rise without any reason. Even if there are quite a number of competition around. Might as well don’t have any competition at all.

Anyone, this was bought by my mother as a gift. I usually don’t frequent Bengawan Solo stores. Out of my league. But I have known about their rather famous pineapple tarts for some time already. And yes, they are one of the better ones. We do have a lot of manufacturers of “local delights” here in Singapore and their quality varies a lot. Most of the brands sold at our supermarkets are on the average scale. If you are looking at those small bakeries, you might find the cheaper ones. Those usually suck, unless you are really lucky. And of the higher quality ones, we have this Bengawan Solo. I managed to finish half of the box in one sitting. It is that good! Oh, do be reminded that this is not really that healthy. So I would highly recommend you to moderate your consumption of such snacks. Do not try to be like me. I might regret it in a few days time.

Nice packaging. What do you expect, this is Bengawan Solo! Not some cheapo kueh store you know! High class kueh boutique! Check out the pineapple on the right. By the way, Bengawan Solo carries other local kueh and snacks too. My mother loves them. Every time she passes by any Bengawan Solo stores (which is rather common nowadays), she would have to pop in and buy something. I don’t mind, I get to eat free stuff.

Hmmm……Bengawan Solo began in the modest kitchen of Mrs Liew, who brought her passion for baking to Singapore from Indonesia. Before long, friends, relatives and acquaintances couldn’t get enough of her cakes and specialties. Encouraged by this enthusiasm, Mrs Liew opened her first shop in 1979. Today, with a chain of retail outlets, Mrs Liew still maintains the highest standards of quality. Each confection is cooked in the traditional manner, without preservatives and using only the finest ingredients. This commitment to quality and home-made freshness has made Bengawan Solo a favourite name throughout Singapore. Well….yes, some people do love Bengawan Solo that much!

Made with only 100% natural, wholesome ingredients, Mrs Liew’s Pineapple Tarts literally melt in your mouth. Hey, that is true! No chewing required. It really melts in your mouth. And yes, one is not enough. And the pineapple filling is very different from what others offer. Unique taste. And very importantly, not too sweet. I also hate those pineapple fillings which feels like glue. Kind of difficult to eat soft tarts if the pineapple filling is so sticky.

Over the years, Mrs Liew has perfected this much-loved Singapore Nonya cookie. Soft, moist and delicious, with a pastry as fine as the filling, you can taste the freshness and home-made quality in every bite. Again, I have to agree. Bengawan Solo is one of the better ones. It is just too bad that their prices are out of reach of my tiny pocket. Booohooo!

The all natural ingredients are butter, eggs, milk, flour, sugar and pineapple filling. The net weight is 330g. Not really a lot but still…..

Okay, here we have the actual pineapple tarts. And yes, I finished this layer in one sitting. There are 2 layers of pineapple tarts. Heavenly. Go Bengawan Solo, go!

Problems Of Modern Medicine – Disease

First of all, I am not saying that I am an expert in health. I am definitely not. In fact, I don’t have much any training in the healthcare professional nor do I have any training in the scientific field. What I know is from what I read and from my personal experience. When you get sick, you should go see a healthcare professional. Nobody here is telling you when you get sick to sit around praying for divine intervention. Go see your doctor. However, the problem with the modern healthcare system we have right now is all about treating the symptoms. Yes, that means that if you have a fever, the doctors you go to will treat the fever via medication. Those medication are meant to kill off the virus that is causing the fever.  But the problem is when you get a fever, it is something else that is allowing the virus to enter into your body and causing that fever. Your immune system is not protecting you from the virus. And that is usually caused by poor diets, poor lifestyle and the lack of exercise. No drugs out there can improve your immune system. Not even vaccines. Vaccines do not do anything to improve your immune system. Vaccines are just supposed to “teach” your antibodies to recognize foreign invaders. Yes, you still need the rest of your body’s immune system to kill of the disease. In the end your body still need to nutrients, vitamins and minerals to help it destroy the disease through its immune system.  Anyone with a compromised immune system can and do get ill from a disease even after vaccination for that particular disease. Kid yourself not, it is your body that does the work. We are so conditioned by the media, the medical industry, the drug companies and the government that we failed to realize that. Thus, we forgot to take responsibility for our health. Instead we depend on doctors and clinics to solve our health issues.

Antibiotics which your doctor gave you does the same thing as well, targeting bacteria in your gut and destroying. But at the same time, it destroys the good bacteria there as well. And these good bacteria are very important to your health. In fact, it is part of your immune system. Doctors estimate that 70% of your immune system lies with your gut. So if you take antibiotics, make sure you consume some probiotics after you get well. Without a healthy responsive immune system, it is pointless to have any vaccinations anyway. Furthermore, when the good bacteria in your gut is destroyed, you might be unable to absorb or breakdown nutrients from the food you consume. This is especially problematic, considering that you are already ill and weak in the first place. And from the recent news, you will realize that even modern doctors know that antibiotics is causing serious long term problems – it causes mutation of bacteria to antibiotic resistance strain of bacteria. How long can we keep on making antibiotics till we run out of safe drugs to use?

And how about long term and short term effects of drugs? We all know that there are long term and short term effects from taking medication right? Even drug companies selling those drugs do not hide the fact that they do. Just imagine every time you fall sick, you take a pill. And if you suffer from a little headache, you take a pill. Back pain? Take a pill. And you feel a little depressed, you take another pill. You cannot sleep, you take yet another pill. In no time, we are all so hyped up on so many different kinds of medication that we have no idea what all these medication short term and long term effects will be. And now we see more and more people suffering from all sorts of long term chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, heart diseases, cancer and so on. Most of these are lifestyle diseases which have no cure and are further compounded by modern medication and vaccines. Vaccines are linked to autoimmune diseases.

You don’t have to be a scientist to realize that modern medicine is not working as well as it is being portrayed. Looking around you. Look at the crowd at the polyclinics. Look at how many of your friends, relatives and colleagues are on long term medication. At most, it is slightly successful at treating some diseases and illness. That is all it does. It does nothing to prevent illness. The drugs are causing more problems than they are helping anyway. We seem to be just pumping our young with more and more vaccines and jabs. That is definitely not the solution. How much more vaccines can the young body handle? Vaccines contains various amounts of poisons and they are known to cause long term problems as well. How long has it been since modern medicine found a cure for a certain disease? I still can’t find any literature for a “cure” for a recent disease. Seems that the medical community is at a loss to what is happening to our health.  Of course, in my opinion, the medical community does get it right in other fields. But as for diseases, they are downright pathetic. What we need to do is to put more emphasis on nutrition and exercise, a healthier lifestyle. I mean, if you go to a doctor, what are you prescribed? Medicine right? At the very most, your doctor will end the consult with a mumble something about eating more of this and less of that. That is simply not right. Doctors should put nutrition on the forefront when “treating” their patients instead of just giving it a nod. I mean, we all trust our doctors right? They have a lot of influence on their patients. We know that nutrition works. We know that it can help prevent diseases and illness. We know that it can improve our general well-being.
