Nestle Fantasy Paradise Yogurt

Huh? What is Fantasy Paradise? Well, judging from the label, it most likely mean a mix of strawberries, raspberries and pineapples. A bit of an unorthodox mix of fruits, but I like it. I am bored with all these normal flavours you see everyday in the stores. Singaporeans don’t seem to like the more exotic flavours, sticking to the same old ones. It is just too bad. If Singaporeans were more adventurous, we would be seeing more and more flavours coming in to our stores, which is a good thing. Can’t always stay the same always right? Oh well…..

Anyway, I bought this from Tampines NTUC a few days ago. As most of the stuff I buy, it was on offer for about S$2.95 per 500g tub of yogurt. Quite reasonable, but still not the cheapest. You can get Marigold 1kg tub for S$5.60 if you are lucky. I have been eating Marigold yogurt on and off for the last few weeks, so I thought I should really go for something else. Nestle seems to be a good choice. Not as expensive as Dairy Farmers and it is around the same league as Marigold yogurts. Furthermore,it does have some very interesting flavours.

Sorry about the slightly blurred picture. The lighting isn’t that good. This is the Nestle Fantasy Paradise Yogurt. Yum yum!

Ahhhh….extra creamy & fruity. Yes, in my opinion, it is pretty creamy. Much creamier than the Marigold yogurt. And best of all, it is not too sweet! This is something which you seldom find in our commercial yogurt these days. Most are just loaded with sugar to mask the tartness of the yogurt. Good job there, Mr Nestle Person. However, I have a major complain – you can hardly taste any fruits in the yogurt. Sure you do get small pieces of fruits here and there, but other than that, it is just yogurt. To me, there is absolutely no strawberry, raspberry or even pineapple flavour in the yogurt other than the bits and pieces of fruits. However, this could be the result of just adding fruits and no additional flavours, which in it’s own way, is good for us. I really don’t care for artificial flavourings in my food anyway. The problem is that we are so used to eating highly flavoured yogurt that it might feel a bit strange to taste just plain (although sweetened) yogurt. If they do add flavourings, I didn’t taste any in the yogurt.

Errr….I think it means added Calcium. The words are in Malay.

Hahaha, good to know. Nestle yogurt is rich, creamy yet low in fat and your source for calcium. The ideal daily indulgence! Well, in a way this is true. Yes, very likely. I believe that the calcium in the yogurt is better absorbed by your body than compared to drinking milk.

Okay, we got it. See, 500g of delicious and heavenly yogurt for you to enjoy.

Ya, comes with live culture and has no artificial colouring. Hmmm….how about flavourings? Do they add flavourings to the yogurt.  And I think their maths fail – 135g x 3 (servings) = 405g. This tub is supposed to contain 500g of yogurt what!

Ingredients are milk solids, mixed fruits like pineapple, strawberry, rapsberry, mixed live cultures like l.bulgaricus, s.thermophilus, stabilizers and flavourings. Damn, I was wrong. They do add flavourings in their yogurt. And why don’t they add probiotic cultures in their yogurt like l.acidophilus?

Anyway, this yogurt should be made in Malaysia and hopefully, the “milk solids” they use are from Australia or New Zealand and not from China. Even if it has been a year or so since the poisioning case, I am still very much afraid of stuff made in China or contains ingredients from China. Ciao, see you next time and remember to keep on eating healthy foods.
