Fiber! We all need it, especially with our current diet these days. Just look at all those fried stuff we are eating, a little fiber will definitely help clear away all those unwanted crap we put into our bodies. Yes, vegetables and fruits are good sources of fiber. And dried fruits is even better when it comes to fiber content in relation to its weight. Plus dried fruits are so convenient. I mean, for fresh fruits, you will need to cut them and when you eat, your hands might get messy or the juice might drip on your expensive Persian rug. So, why not eat dried fruits. All you need to do is pop a few pieces into your mouth when you are walking or in the office. No, you cannot eat food in the trains anymore. Those MRT train police will come and arrest you and send you to some concentration camp in Jurong Island.
Seriously, I think with our hectic lifestyle, dried fruits are a very good way to get fiber and even antioxidants for our bodies. We don’t have time to grab a few bites of fresh fruits anymore, either that or it is rather inconvenient. But do not think for a moment that dried fruits is a substitute for fresh fruits. They are not. You still should consume some fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Our modern dried fruits are processed and during that process, nutrients and vitamins might be lost, thus you might not get the full benefit of fresh fruits and vegetables.

There you go, natural strawberry flavoured dried cranberry fusion. It is a cool way to say that this is dried cranberry that has been dipped in some strawberry juice or something. Do note that without any sweetener, cranberries are way too sour to be consumed by the general public. So sweeteners are always a must, which in my opinion is very disappointing.

Ya loh, those are cranberries! And in the background, those are strawberries.

Net weight is 100g. And this is a product of the United States. Of course, it is naturally cholesterol free. If it has cholesterol, then there is something very wrong here. At the very least, the labeling is honest enough to say that it is “naturally” cholesterol free. I like honesty, which is very much lacking in today’s businesses.

The pack of the 100g pack of dried cranberries.

Well, the ingredients are sugar, cranberries, acidity regulator (330), natural strawberry flavour, elderberry juice concentrate and sunflower oil. What’s the deal with this elderberry juice?

Hmmm….the all-important nutrition table. Please don’t fall asleep reading them.

Good advice. Keep your dried foodstuff in a cool, dry place. And yes, avoid direct sunlight. They might make your dried foodstuff rancid.

Well, as mentioned earlier, this is a product of the United States. And it is packed in Malaysia. No Singapore. Too bad. Would be good to be packed in Singapore to provide jobs for Singaporeans. But then, business is still business. It would probably be cheaper to pack in Malaysia than in Singapore.

Hoooooot! These are the small pieces of cranberries. Pop one into your mouth and you will agree with me that it is just heavenly. One of my friends commented that this is a bit too sweet. I tend to agree. But come on, most of the stuff we eat nowadays are loaded with all sorts of sweeteners and this dried cranberry doesn’t even come close to the amount of sugar they contain. Look at the bright side, you get a good amount of fiber and some antioxidants as well.
