Hello there, I was just wondering how many of you guys are on leave currently? Looks like this week, a heck lot of people is on leave or on vacation. Even the buses don’t seem that crowded today. I am sure that our glorious bus service didn’t just attempt to improve their service but most likely due to the reduced number of passengers today. And I am quite sure, for the entire week (and maybe even next week), there will be less of a crowd in the morning. Looking at the holidays we have this and next week (Thursday is Christmas and next week Thursday is New Year’s Day), everyone is planning to take leave these two weeks. Well, this is good for me as I am working. Not planning to take leave as the shopping malls will be full of children these days. I hate squeezing in the malls with kids running around. Yes, I am the peace and quiet kind of guy.
The best time for me to take leave is next February, after the Chinese New Year holidays. Everything will be back to normal and the malls will not be as crowded as in the holiday period. Better for people like me looking for a place to rest, relax and avoid crowds. It is quite surprisingly that Singaporeans (in tiny crowded Singapore) love crowds. I have seen it happening in Vivocity and all those new Megamalls where it is so full of people that you can hardly walk. I remembered in October when I went to Vivocity, it looked like I went to Hong Kong! Freaking crowded! It took about 1 hour to find a parking lot. The escalator up to the main floor was packed and they even needed ushers to direct the traffic. And they came with kids! The whole place was worse than the morning markets.
Anyway looks like for the Chinese New Year, we will have a 4 day long weekend, which is a good thing. After the Christmas and the New Year celebrations, we will need some time to rest our tired shopping (but happy) feet. What better way to rest than a 4 day long break from work, right? It is like taking a break from taking a break. lol.
And oh before I forget, what is your New Year’s resolution for next year? For me, it is to be stronger and fitter than last year. Been ill too many times and people tend to think that I am a wimp. Nobody wants to be labeled as a wimp.
