Yet again in my quest for healthier food in Singapore, I found this Unibic Raspberry Tartelette. I am not exactly sure what this is but it should be some sort of biscuit or cookie. But unlike cookies, this set is pretty firm and hard. Taste wise, I find this Tartelette very unique. The raspberry isn’t very strong but the cookie portion of the tartelette isn’t strong tasting either, which makes this a very light snack. Of course, it is not particularly filling. I ate all 6 pieces in one go.
Anyway, I have taken a few photos of this Tartelette.
Looks tempting isn’t it? Note that this is not the soft kind of cookie. Neither it is chewy. I had expected it to be like those shortcakes which is slightly soft but crumpy. The Unibic Tartelette is pretty hard when you bite into them. Feels a bit like Famous Almos hard cookies but it is more firm. Oh, for those with a sweet tooth, you will be disappointed to know that the Raspberry filling isn’t sweet, neither is the cookie itself. But hey, for me, it is good enough. And this is anything but ordinary! It doesn’t even feel like a tart!
Wow, the Unibic Guarantee! Well, if I am not completely satisfied, I would certainly shoot an email to Unibic and give them a piece of my mind. This Tartelette isn’t cheap at all. I would say it cost quite a bundle to a poor guy like me.
I really hope that the milk they used is not from China.
The photo of the actual Tartelette. Very different from the photos on the packaging isn’t it? It looks so nicely baked in those pictures but here, we have the actual snack. Anyway, please don’t worry much about it, it does taste delicious enough for me to eat all 6 pieces in one go. One bite and you will be hooked for life.One big complain I have is that it is pretty hard. Of course, it is not rock hard but this is something which (to me) is unexpected. The small amount of raspberry filling is also a bit disappointing. Hahaha, come on Unibic, don’t be a miser when it comes to fillings eh?
If you are looking for a healthy and tasty snack, go for this Unibic Raspberry Tartelette. It really goes well with some English tea or just as a wonderful afternoon snack. Too bad in Singapore, we seldom drink English tea nor have time for a wonderful afternoon snack.
