Well what’s your plan for this coming holiday? Planning to go overseas for a vacation? Or staying at home and rot? Looking at the current economic climate in Singapore, I have to say that a good number of us are staying at home. Even my company has hinted that there will be no bonus this year. Anyway, I am sure that there are a number of you guys who are going for tours this coming holidays. Maybe to faraway places, or just nearby. You can always get help from travel agencies or tour operators to help you out. Unless you are planning to go to Hong Kong or Malaysia, you should get the expert advice from these tour agencies instead of going there blind. No, I am not paid by travel agencies to say that but in all seriousness, language and the simple fact that a foreign country is “foreign” to us will definitely make things bad for first time travelers. Even if you have been to the country before, it still doesn’t mean that you are familiar with the place. Food, lodging and transport is always the biggest problem in any travel. And since you are supposed to enjoy yourself there, why not get help from travel agencies who will book and even plan everything for you. Saves you a ton of headache and even money. Of course, if you are traveling nearby like Malaysia or even Indonesia or some country which has about the same cultural and language as Singapore, you would probably be better off doing things by yourself.
