Damn, I am sick yet again. This time it is the flu. Been a while since I am down with the flu but it finally got me. My nose is runny and I can’t really smell anything now. Sometimes it will get blocked and I can’t breathe properly. In the past, I often ill with flu but for the past few years, I seemed to be more immune to it then usual. Probably because I am eating a lot more fruits and vegetables plus I have been taking vitamin pills. However, this time it is unavoidable as my nephews are also down with flu. I guess this is how it was spread to me. Sometimes it would be better not to come in close contact to them who are ill but what can I do? It is not like I can tell them not to come close to me right? It would not be appropriate to do that. I am a person of integrity and honour, whatever that means.
Anyway, to fight this, I will be taking a lot of liquids. That’s what I have been told to do to combat against the flu virus. Well, it would mean that I will be drinking lots of water, eating fruits and vegetables and stuff like that. I wonder whether drinking beer would count? I guess not as I am guessing that alcohol does leech liquid from the body. That’s why people feel thirsty after drinking a large amount of alcohol. I will also be taking some more vitamins to strengthen my body’s resistance to the flu virus. Vitamin C is the best bet here. I think I may have a few bottles of Vitamin C tablets somewhere in my room. I heard that Ginger helps too. Just too bad that my Ginger Beer ingredients have not arrived yet. If not, I could be sipping cool refreshing Ginger beer about now and feeling better too.
How about seeing a doctor? Na, I don’t think I will be doing that. This is not a serious illness nor do I feel so sick that justify me going to see a doctor and paying a large sum for medicine and advise that I should be taking more liquids and resting more. I know that already. If only my work allows me to rest more, then I will rest more. But in Singapore, you don’t have that luxury.
