Isn’t it great to have advertisements? I was thinking of ways to improve this blog and suddenly it hit me, advertisements! That is exactly what anyone visiting this blog needs. I mean, if these visitors don’t have adverts like all the other websites they visited, they will feel lost and out of place. So I did it, I have added an adsense box on the right. I hope you guys are comfortable and living in your “element” now. All feedbacks about the ads will be greatly appreciated. Would you guys like it bigger? Or perhaps you like flashy video ads instead of boring text ads? Please tell me so that I can improve this blog. I am thinking of setting up of a online store so that you shopaholics can relax while you are reading this blog. What do you think?

In the future, we may have advertisements in the blog posts themselves by hiding the advertisers’ links among it. So if you click on a link on a post and if you are in luck, it could actually bring you to somewhere else, very likely a website that sells things for profit. Great isn’t it? Just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best whenever you click on something.

Yes, this is called slow going extreme. Notice the “extreme” word at the end. It means that the Authority Sites Directory is being updated very slowly. I have only added like 6 listings into the directory this month and it’s already the 11th of May! Now, I am going to give you some really lame excuses, they are due to work, stress, eye pain, fingers pain and plain laziness. Sometimes I even daydream too much. But hey, at least I did new blog posts nearly everyday right?

But you can help by sending me URLs of websites that have been given the “authority site” status by Google. Or just comment in this plan with those URLs that are not found in the Authority Sites Directory already. This way, I can immediately add them in without the need to “waste time” searching for them first. If you don’t know what is “authority site” status, please take a look here. And soon, we can be the biggest directory out there with all the authority sites listed on the Internet and we will become famous. There is no I in teamwork, you know. I will give credit when credit is due. I promise. I Robot.

As I mentioned before, I am surprised that there are quite a number of men who like going to Health Spas. In Singapore, it seemed to be a fad among the rich men now, especially now that the economy is doing well and people have more money to spend. Apparently these men would take like half a day off from work and get their face moisturized, nails manicured, legs waxed or just relax at these health spas like those spolit women we see everyday in the office. Yes, that’s right, no hanky panky! And more surprising is that these men boast about going to health spas in the local newspapers!

Now that’s what Singapore need, more males with their super smooth face, nice painted nails and long silky seductive hairless legs walking about in Singapore. Let’s not judge them. If they want to look beautiful and make the females jealous, who are we to comment? Maybe the women in Singapore will feel the competition and buck up by making themselves at least presentable for a change. Good for me. Good for Singapore.

Anyway, I have some links for those interested in such “divine” pleasures: Singapore Beauty Spas Listings, Singapore Skincare Salons, Singapore Slimming Centres and Singapore Cosmetics/Makeup Services.

I think that this tool can help directory owners review their submission listings faster.  All you have to do is to load in a list of URLs and this tool will check for you whether it is a parked domain, checks for spam wordings, has how many websites on it’s IP address, how many advertisements it has, how many scripts it has and so on.

Although not perfect, it should be of some help to the overworked directory owner. Especially for the free general web directory owner who has to review hundreds of sites per day. This tool can help simplify some of the process. I think I could add some suggestions myself. Check for PageRank, check for spammy URLs, check for the amount of indexable content and give a preview of the website in question. You can eliminate a lot of spam sites with these few criteria. The rest, well, you have to manually review them. One more little tip, I always reject sites with too many advertisements, especially on the frontpage. Seriously, if they put like 4 or 5 adsense all over the page, you should not approve them into your directory.

Note that this tool is still in beta and currently not all the features are working.
