yes, you don’t need a high pagerank to be given an “authority site” status.

I found one site with just PR 4. It’s Wall’s Industries. And from Google authority site status: here. So, don’t be fooled by marketing guys that tell you that you need a high PR to achieve that status. In fact, there are a lot of such sites with PR 5 as well. And there are a lot of high PR sites which wasn’t given the “authority site” status.

Hi all, it’s me again.

I am here to tell me about an interesting concept about “link exchange”. Well, instead of exchanging just links, how about exchanging pages?

I mean, we all know that reciprocal linking isn’t that effective, but those links are just links. But trading pages could work better, because first of all, it’s not link exchange. It’s like content exchange. And you can get all sorts of keywords and keyphrase in that page as well.

So how about trying about WebWobot’s PageTrade ? I am a member too.

Is that true? Some directories like Skaffe, GoGuides  and Joeant have very very deep categories.  And thus it takes a lot of clicks to reach their deep categories. And so does Search Engines spiders. They have to wallow deep down to get to the listings.  So I have been reading up on GoGuide.org where they claim that Google reads their sitemap and if there are additions even in the deep categories, they will index it fast. Do you guys think that is true?

I had thought that Sitemaps is mainly used for naviagtion purposes.

I have started on the review for Wow Directory.

From the first impression, I would not have believed that this directory is worth the submission price.  But it has some great features, not found elsewhere and it is recognized by Google as an “authority site”. But I will continue to look deeper into it and see how well it fares.

Hello, it’s me again.

Done the Index-It Review. Hope you enjoy it. I find that this directory is pretty good and the price is very reasonable. It has a few flaws, but nothing too serious.

Hooray, we have hit the 200 mark and beyond.

I have been looking at the pages indexed by Google, it seems that none went into supplemental, which is good. But I am not sure whether it will remain once the pages grow. We just have to see. I do not have a lot of backlinks pointing to Autho-Rity right now because I want to see how Google treats unique pages.

I have searching around for authority sites for a while now, mainly to get them listed in the Autho-Rity directory. What I discovered was that not all the sites which was given “authority site” status is actually good. I meant most were ok, had good content and the quality was acceptable. But not all.

I am not really sure how actually Google assigns this status. But I am pretty sure the site’s title and URL plays a part in it. But I think I need to do more research on this first. This is just a little heads up.

Content is NOT king

March 20, 2007

Sadly, no matter what Search Engines haven been telling us, content is still not king. Links and links from authority sites are.  Well, I too would like to believe that content is king, but from experience, that is not true. I have seen it too many times.

So true. And too bad.

Ok, we have 175 listings done on Autho-Rity already. Hopefully, these sites will be useful to our readers.

If you find any spelling mistakes, please inform me.

How much will you be willing to spend on links per month? And on which type of sites would you like these links to be in?

This of course assumes that your site is a business site and you need to do a constant stream of linkbuilding.

Please comment.
